Energy Boosting Supplements

Having enough energy is a constant battle for some people, despite getting a full night of rest, eating right, and exercising. Energy boosting supplements may be the answer for keeping up with demanding tasks throughout the day.

Melatonin

While melatonin may not boost your energy levels during the day, it may help you sleep well enough that you won’t need any other supplements.

L-Arginine

An amino acid that is found in food and also made within the body, l-arginine is one of the best energy boosting supplements. L-arginine helps to create nitric oxide in the blood, which then dilates and allows for more blood flow throughout the body.

If blood is flowing better throughout the body, more oxygen and nutrients can reach your muscles, brain, and heart. Nutrients are your fuel source, so if you’re receiving more of them, you’ll have more energy throughout the day!

Vitamin B12

Another common deficiency people have is in vitamin B12 since the body does not create it on its own–it needs to be consumed through food. The vitamin not only helps with improving your immune system, it also helps boost energy levels.

Dairy, red meat, eggs, and salmon are high in b12 vitamins. If you eat enough of these foods, you most likely do not need to supplement with vitamins. However, vegans and those with strict eating restrictions may need to take vitamin supplements daily.

No surprise here, right? We’ve all had that moment of drinking a caffeinated beverage too close to bedtime and struggle to fall asleep.

Caffeine can be found in coffee, soda, workout supplements, and energy drinks. It is probably one of the most effective energy boosting supplements, but we weary of a crash a few hours later. Not everyone experiences them, but many do.

Not much is needed to get your metabolism going and gain extra mental and physical focus. Pre-workout supplements are known to have caffeine so you can workout longer and push harder than you can without it.

Before starting any supplements outside of dietary means (ie: pills, powders), talk to your doctor to see if you are deficient in it. A simple blood test can tell you what your body is lacking and how much more you’ll need to balance it out.

Using energy boosting supplements can help achieve sustained energy throughout the day and helping you accomplish what you need without feeling exhausted. Eating right and exercising regularly is also a sure way to help balance energy levels naturally and in a healthy way.
