Many women feel that heart disease and heart attacks are “men’s diseases”, so they don’t focus on their heart health as much as they should. In reality, women suffer just as many heart attacks a year as men do.

In fact, about 80% of women’s heart health problems could be prevented if women paid more attention to their blood pressure and cholesterol. Additionally, knowing the warning signs and symptoms can save lives, too.

Women are busy, usually juggling jobs, children, sports schedules, and more. As such, their health can end up taking a backseat.

Finding ways to exercise each day, get sufficient sleep, and eat a balanced diet can dramatically increase your chance of avoiding a heart attack or heart disease.

Heart health is critical, but being overall healthy is key too. Maintaining a healthy weight, drinking plenty of water, and quitting smoking are just a few simple ways to ensure a lifelong of good health.

For all the women in your life, become educated and then share what your know with them. You can form exercise groups and enjoy being healthy instead of considering it a chore.

Proper health doesn’t only mean physical health, but mental too. Finding ways to relax and unwind each day for at least 10 minutes can release muscle tension and possibly lower blood pressure.
